Germany to deport foreigners, facing high rise in molestation cases

Cologne: The sharp rise in assault cases on women has disturbed Cologne, Hamburg and some other cities of  Germany. On the New Year eve, thousands of sexual assaults cases were reported by women against Arab and South African men .This made the government take a decision of deporting foreigners.

Some 90 criminal complaints, including one allegation of rape, have been brought to the Cologne police department after women said they were molested by a crowd of men who had gathered in the city’s famous square between its central train station and towering Gothic cathedral. Authorities expect more victims to come forward in the next few days.

City police chief Wolfgang Albers said the crowd was composed of up to 1,000 heavily intoxicated men who gave the appearance of being “Arab or North African” in background.

Cologne Police states”553 criminal complaints have been lodged, 45% of which are for sexual assaults, around 1.1 million claimed asylum” Nearly 2,000 people demonstrated against Angela Merkel’s open-door policy on refugees. They marched through out Legida city on Monday venting their anger on the government. Police arrested around 211 people for damaging buildings and burning cars during the protest.

Justice Minister Heiko Maas says “no-one is permitted to put themselves above the law” after receiving reports of sharp rise in assault cases. An official report said most of the attackers belonged to migration background
