HYDERABAD: A woman was killed and her husband critically injured after their two-wheeler was hit by a car near Addakula of Mahabubnagar district in Telangana, police said.
As per media reports, the couple Turupu Siddilingam, 53, and his wife Maheshwaramma, 48, from Moosapet mandal were on their way to attend the housewarming ceremony of their daughter were hit by a Chevrolet car from behind.
Killed instantly, the Maheshwaramma’s body landed on the windshield of the car due to the impact, but the driver instead of stopping kept driving for about two kms, according to police.
The driver abandoned the vehicle along road and fled fearing that local people might chase him, police said, adding efforts are on to nab the driver and owner of the vehicle.
