GHMC Chief’s Meet—Oppn Complain about Removal of Voters Names

Several leaders from opposition parties have brought to the notice of GHMC Commissioner Dr Janardhan Reddy about the removal of voters names in the list, division of wards and identification of BC voters, at a meeting today.

Ruling TRS party, Congress, TDP, MIM, CPM and other political parties’ leaders participated in the meeting with the GHMC Commissioner Dr Janardhan Reddy to discuss about the ensuing GHMC elections. The leaders from opposition parties have said that the election commission has not yet handed over the SC, ST voters’ list to the political parties. Congress senior leader Marri Shashidhar Reddy has said that there was scope for injustice being done in implementing reservations.

TDP MLA KP Vivekanand has alleged that the division of wards was being done as per the wishes of the ruling party leaders.

Speaking to the media after the meeting , the Commissioner said that 33 percent reservation for the BCs will be implemented in the GHMC elections even though the BC voters’ number has decreased.

He said the GHMC elections will be held as per law and urged all political parties to extend their cooperation. (NSS)
