The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation has deputed 21 special officers for the collection of Property Tax dues from huge defaulters, informed GHMC Commissioner & Special Officer Dr. B. Janardhan Reddy on Wednesday.
The GHMC has observed that the collection of property tax is not up to the expectations and dip in revenues was affecting the developmental activities. Therefore, the GHMC Commissioner has deputed 21 Special Officers and assigned them the task of collecting huge dues from 1,000 identified defaulters. He desired that every Special Officer must feel his responsibility and ensure that he achieves the set target.
The GHMC has to collect the tax arrears of nearly Rs. 518 crores from the defaulters of 3,829 properties. (INN)
