Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) election Votes Counting would start at 3.30 pm Today and results will be announced after 5PM only.
“The counting of all the 149 Divisions of GHMC for which polling was held on February 2 will begin at 3.30 pm . It won’t take much time to finish counting and tabulation of results. However, as the re-poll will continue till 5pm results will be announced only after 5pm”, said an officer.
According to reports Re-polling is under way at Puranapool amid tight security. State election commission officials said 15 percent voters cast their votes in the first two hours.
The re-poll was ordered by the Election Commission after complaints were filed by Congress leaders alleging that the Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen resorted to rigging with the support of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) government and police.
“The counting of Purana Pool Division will be taken up in the last and by late evening entire counting process will be completed”, GHMC Commissioner and Election Returning Officer B. Janardhan Reddy told the media on Thursday.
The entire process of counting will be video recorded and except for the candidates and authorized agents, no one will be allowed within and around the counting centers. Section 144 would be imposed at the counting centers.
