GHMC Mayor Bonthu Rammohan has appealed the citizens to perform Ganesh Pooja with clay Ganesha in the coming days.
The Mayor, along with senior officials, visited Save Organisation at Narsingi where clay Ganeshas are being prepared for the ensuing Ganesh festival. In this contest, the Mayor said that from next year onwards, the GHMC is planning to ban plaster of Paris idols to control pollution. He said that the use of Plaster of Paris idols was causing lot of pollution and health hazards.
The GHMC is planning to conduct special training to citizens who are interested in clay Ganesha. The Mayor further appealed the citizens that instead of offerings money for Ganesh festival, they may offer clay Ganesha to others. He appreciated the services rendered by Vijaya Rao, representative of Save Organisation, who is running this project since five years. (INN)
