GHMC has a proposal to introduce a Unique Smart Addressing Solution for the urban dwellings in Hyderabad city based on a Geo-spatial solution.
The GHMC would call a tender for implementing this project and as part of this, it was proposed to conduct a door-to-door survey using a technology platform to generate the digital house number for all dwellings within the jurisdiction of the authority through a mobile based application. A technology based solution has been proposed keeping in mind the benefits of providing navigation details and address location services.
This will ensure the benefits of providing navigation details and address location services to the users with the jurisdiction of GHMC. Due to the inorganic growth of the city, it has become increasingly cumbersome to provide a solution that assigns a unique identification (house address scheme or house number) for urban dwellings hat is intuitive in nature.
The naming and numbering of streets and numbering of houses are very important as it is useful for various vital administrative and constitutional requirements and does not end in identification of the premises alone. The present house numbering system consists of ward-block-house number and same is being followed since 1951. This system is causing a lot of confusion. The objective of the project is to provide GHMC with a Unique Smart Addressing solution for urban Dwellings (USASUD) in Hyderabad. (NSS)
