GHMC to remove 842 structures on nalas in city

The GHMC is facing lot of problems and much inconvenience at the existing nalas where 842 unauthorized structures are on the nalas which have to be removed on priority, said the Commissioner, GHMC.

 

The Commissioner, along with senior officials of the Town Planning, held a detailed review meeting in this connection. Surveys on 173 main nala have been completed with an extent of 390 km where 12,182 unauthorized constructions have been identified in the survey where the Commissioner has given directions to remove 842 structures on priority duly issuing the notices taking legal points in to the consideration for removing the same said the Commissioner.

 

The Commissioner said that below poverty line identified unauthorized structures on nalas these people will be taken care for construction of double bed room to the effected people and for private and patta lands compensation has to be paid for which necessary action plan has to be prepared for which the Commissioner has given certain directions. Most of the unauthorized constructions have been identified in Kukatpally, Moosapet circles notices have to be issued to the property owners and to remove the unauthorized constructions coordination with the public representatives.

 

As part of the pre-monsoon action plan, GHMC has identified 842 structures as critical bottle necks over the Nalas. The following instructions have been issued: The individual sketches are prepared to around 500 properties and all the ACPs were instructed to prepare Individual Sketches to the balance properties and hand over the sketches to the concerned Executive Engineer within 3 days. The Executive Engineers will take immediate action for preparation of Structural compensation. Simultaneously verification of ownership aspect to be taken up immediately. Statutory Notices shall be issued viz., Notice u/s 405 to Govt. Properties, Notice u/s 406 to Private Properties. The notices prepared such shall be kept ready a day in advance and copies of the notices along with full details such as documentary evidence, photographs, paper clippings, etc., shall be handed over to the concerned Standing Counsel for GHMC, so as to apprise the same before theĀ  Courts so as to avoid any status quo orders restraining from demolition. If necessary, steps shall also be taken for filing of caveat petition in Lower Courts. The day to day progress shall be submitted to Head Office in the proforma being communicated.
