Ghulam Ali to perform in Delhi if ‘situation remains conducive’

New Delhi: Pakistani ghazal singer Ghulam Ali on Tuesday said he is ready to perform in the national capital provided the situation here remains conducive.

“If situation remains conducive, I will surely perform in Delhi,” Ali told ANI.

Commenting on right-wing organisations protesting against his performance in the wake terrorist attacks, he said, “When Jagjit Singh performed, he carried forward the name of India. Similarly, when I perform, the name of Pakistan comes as well, which I like.”

Earlier, the Shiv Sena had not allowed Ghulam Ali to perform in Mumbai. After being banned from performing in Mumbai and Pune by the Sena, Ghulam Ali performed in Kolkata, following which he has been invited to perform in Delhi.

The Shiv Sena had defended its move stating that banning the singer was their tribute to the Indian soldiers, who were killed in ceasefire violations by Pakistan. (ANI)
