Hyderabad: An 18-year-old girl was allegedly attacked on Sunday with a blade by her husband’s elder brother for marrying a Muslim in Saifabad. She suffered minor injuries on her neck and alleged it as an attack of honour.
According to a report by DC, the girl, who asks for alms in Karmanghat, came in contact with Suleman, 19, an autorickshaw driver from Hafeez Baba Nagar, Kanchanbagh. “The girl claims that they got married during Ramzan but there is no proof,” said Madannapet sub inspector V. Prasad.
On Sunday morning, the couple went to have tea in Saidabad. “When Mr Suleman left for his house and Nagamani was walking back, his elder brother Salman, along with another person, approached Nagamani on a bike and threatened her for marrying his brother and attacked her with a blade and fled,” Prasad said.
Nagamani approached the Madannapet police and filed an FIR. The case is registered under Section 307 (attempt to murder) of IPC against the duo.
The Madannapet police have shifted the case to Saidabad PS, while the investigation in on.
