Rahul Gandhi promises to raise problems of Kashmiri Pandits in Parliament

Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi has said he would raise the problems of Kashmiri Pandit migrants in Parliament, according to a delegation that met him here.

Representatives of Congress’ Migrant Cell, who met him last evening, complained to him that the Jammu and Kashmir government was “delaying” the implementation of Prime Minister’s employment package for displaced Kashmiri Pandit youth and sought his intervention.

Rahul Gandhi is a member of Lok Sabha.

The delegation apprised him of problems being faced by the people displaced from the Kashmir.

The delegation leader Hira Lal Pandita said non-implementation of the package has generated “a lot of resentment” among the displaced Kashmiri Pandits.

Rahul was told that against 6,000 posts announced by the then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in 2008, only 2,000 displaced Pandit youth were given jobs under the package in the last seven years.
