Google station: India to have wi-fi at school, malls and other places

New Delhi: Google unit of Alphabet Inc had launched Google Station in India as the huge station brings more people on its platform. A google service’s objective to reach across the country.

According to NDTV, the company on Tuesday said that the places where large number of people can be seen such as malls and transit stations, and in social hangout locations such as cafes and universities google will provide Wi-Fi hotspots.

Caesar Sengupta, Vice-President, Next Billion Users at Google said “The goal is to give people many hot spots within a few minutes walk from their home, university, or workplace, unified by a simple login process that works across all of them.”

Company said, presently it is providing free Wi-Fi access at 53 railway stations across India and plans to scale up the service to 100 by year-end.

The vice president, Sengupta also said that the company is looking the people are using the service it offers at railway stations.

Same as in India it is also launched in Indonesia and Philippines in future, the company said.
