Government scheme to improve health facilities for pregnant women

New Delhi [India]: Union Health Minister J P Nadda launched the Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan in New Delhi on Friday, which is aimed at improving health care facilities for pregnant women.

Under the scheme, pregnant ladies will be given free health check-up and required treatment free of cost on the ninth of every month.

The scheme will be applicable for pregnant women in all government hospitals across the country.

Nadda said, urged doctors of private hospitals to visit government hospitals for routine check-up of prospective mothers. He requested the media to publicised the initiative so that large number of women can get benefits. On the occasion, the Health Minister launched a web portal and also a mobile app on the safe motherhood. (ANI)
