Government’s hostile attitude towards OU

Hyderabad: Mr. M. Ramachandra Rao, BJP MLC strongly condemned the hostile attitude of TRS Govt. of Telangana and said that the dream of golden Telangana could not be fulfilled unless the Govt. develops education sector by providing free education from KG to PG. He was addressing a gathering organized by Telangana BCs Students’ Association on “Protection of OU”. He lamented that there are no vice-chancellors in 12 universities of Telangana State. He alleged that in order to maintain its control over the universities, Govt. of Telangana is amending Universities Act which will destroy educational system.

He regretted that OU is facing lot financial difficulties. This university is going to complete its centenary in the next two years. It is a prestigious university which is acclaimed in the entire world. The students are deprived of basic amenities. They do not have proper toilets and bathrooms. He demanded the Govt. to appoint VC and teachers.

Addressing the gathering, Prof. P.L. Vishweshwara Rao demanded the Govt. to withdraw ordinances 28 and 29 and take necessary steps to clear the arrears of Rs. 7 crore.
