Govt Committed for Brahmin Welfare—Indrakaran

Housing,  Law and Endowments Minister, A Indrakaran Reddy  has stated that  in the Legislative Assembly on Wednesday  that the state government stuck to its word on the welfare of the Brahmins. The Minister announced that the government has  acquired land for the proposed  Brahmana Sangam Bhavan,  and  a five members Cabinet Sub-Committee  is to be appointed to study the salaries and allowances to the priests.

 

Husnabad MLA Vodithela Sathish Kumar has posed a question  whether it is a fact that the state government has initiated measures for the welfare of poor Brahmins in the state and if so, the details thereof. Replying to it, the Minister said that a provision of Rs.100 crores has been made in the budget 2016-17 towards Brahmins Welfare Fund. The details are being worked out to establish a suitable body for this purpose as soon as possible. He reminded that the government was paying Rs.6,000 per month to the priests working in 1805 temples across the state. (NSS)
