Govt hikes police job age limit

Giving chance to the candidates for the police jobs, State government today issued orders increasing age limit for recruitment by three years. Police Recruitment Board will implement this norm to conduct the examination for recruitment of the police personnel. The Government also doubled the mess charges for police on bandobast duty in Hyderabad and Cyberabad limits to Rs 200 from Rs 100 and in districts to Rs 150 from Rs 100. The Government earlier announced the decision of age limit hike last month and issued orders now.

According to information the age limit hiked for police jobs for general category was from 22 years to 25 years, 27 years to 30 years for reserved categories of SC, ST and BC. For SI jobs they were hiked by three years for general categories from 25 years to 28 years and for general categories it was hiked from 30 years to 33 years. In a similar way the government relaxed age limit by 10 years to non-uniform jobs from 34 years to 44 years and an additional five years for reserved quota candidates as per sources. (NSS)
