Govt., MIM at loggerheads on Waqf Board issue

Hyderabad: Telangana government and Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen are at loggerheads on one-sided decision taken by Telangana Waqf Board. Government has decided not to yield on MIM’s pressure in order to minimise the role of Waqf Mafia in the performance of Waqf Board.

In the first meeting of the Board, without any agenda, members of MIM passed a resolution to return the services of Chief Executive Officer to his respective department and forced other members to support the resolution.

Chief Minister is angry over the use of unparliamentary language for Chief Executive Officer by the MIM members. According to reliable sources Chief Minister has sought report from the officials regarding the behaviour meted out with Mohammed Asadullah who played important role in Waqf Board performance. On the basis of report Chief Minister will anytime cancel the resolution of the Board.
