Govt. not serious to provide justice to Alair encounters victims

Neither government, judiciary nor Muslim leadership is serious for providing justice to Alair encounter victims. The victims were in the shackles; this fact is enough to prove that the encounter was fake. Government has failed to provide justice to victims’ families. Civil liberties Monitoring Committee leader Mr. Lateef Mohammed Khan told this while addressing a press conference along with the family members of youth who were shot dead in the fake encounter. Repeating his demand to conduct probe by a sitting high court judge into the encounter, he said justice couldn’t be expected until impartial probe is not ensured.

Father of Viqar, wife and children of Dr. Haneef were present at the press conference.

On April 7 last, five people including Syed Amjad, Mohammed. Zakir and Izhar Khan – all undertrial prisoners lodged in the Warangal Central Prison were being brought to be produced in a court here. Near Alair in Nalgonda district, they were allegedly shot dead in the escort police van.
