Hyderabad: Making it clear that the State government gave jobs to the artistes recognizing their efforts in achieving separate Telangana State, the TRS government has said the artistes should not be dishonored as they were appointed by the government in the name of Telangana Samskrithika Saradhi and asked the Opposition parties to give a list if there anyone has not been selected.
During the Question Hour on Tuesday in the Telangana Legislative Assembly, the CPI lone member Ravindra Kumar Ramavath asked the government to tell as to how many artistes appointed till now in the name of Telangana Samskrithika Saradhi and their salary being paid to them. He also asked to tell whether it has been brought to the notice that several irregularities are taking place in appointment of the said artists. He also alleged that the artists Vaishali (Rangareddy) and Sagar (Karimnagar) committed suicide as the government failed to give them job. He alleged that the government was not paying salaries regularly and they are participating in election campaigns on behalf of the ruling party. The government failed to recognize the services of Prajanatya Mandali artisets, who participated in Telangana movement severely.
BJP Floor leader Dr K Laxman asked the government to know whether it was providing job security or not. He said it is learnt that the government was not appointed the artists who have no recommendation. It was not correct on the part of the ruling party to utilize the services of artists for the sake of election campaign instead of using their services for the sake of government programs.
Responding to the questions, Scheduled Castes Tribes Development, Tourism and Culture Minister Chandulal said the government provided jobs under Telangana Samsrkithika Saradhi but she committed suicide due to family differences. He said the government appointed all the artistes in the jobs and the Telangana Samskrithika Saradhya Committee selected the candidates for it. The government given jobs to all the artists applied for the jobs.
Finding fault with the Minister, Ravindra Kumar said it was not correct on the part of the Minister to tell that the Prajanatyamandali artists have not applied for the jobs. “We met Principal Secretary in this regard but there was no response. The government has appointed drivers and their near and dears instead of genuine artistes”, he said.
Not satisfied with the Minister’s reply though he said the government will consider if there are any mistakes, Ravindra Kumar tried to pull the government on the issue, but Finance Minister Etela Rajender intervened and said the government appointed the artists with good mind and it was not correct on the part of Ravindra Kumar to say that something was happened.
