Despite announcement by electricity department to provide uninterrupted power supply, power cut continues in the city during the Holy month of Ramadan. Power supply remained disrupted till late night in several parts of the city and no one was there to take care of that, while high officials were not receiving phone calls. Fasting persons faced a lot of difficulty. During the month of Ramadan Muslims remain awake for prayers and other activities during night. Power supply remained disrupted even at Sayeedabad where the house of TSSPDCL Chairman is located.
On the night of June 8, power supply remained disrupted at Purani Haveli, Chatta Bazar, Dewan Dewdi, Nayapul, Engine Bowli, Falaknuma, Kala Pathar areas but no measures were taken to immediately restore power. Announcement was made regarding setting up of control room by electricity department for old city but no performance is witnessed in providing uninterrupted power supply.
