Govt. to take decision on Indo-Pak talks based on facts not speculations: BJP

New Delhi: In response to the reported detention of Jaish-e-Muhammad chief Maulana Masood Azhar in connection with the Pathankot terror attack, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday said that the government would take decision on the Foreign Secretary-level talks based on facts and not just speculations.

“There been many reports. We need to appreciate that the Government of India will take a final decision based on the interest of India.I don’t think diplomacy will be conducted on basis of what gets published because there has to be a final confirmation of things and then the government will be able to take decision based on facts and not just speculations,” BJP leader Nalin Kohli told ANI here.

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) late on Wednesday evening said there was no official confirmation from Islamabad on the arrest of Masood Azhar.

“We have no official confirmation on the arrest of JeM chief Masood Azhar. We have seen the press release that has been put out by the Pakistani side, but we have no official confirmation on the arrest,” said MEA official spokesperson Vikas Swarup. (ANI)
