Greek tennis player slapped with life ban for corruption

Johannesburg: Greek tennis player Alexandros Jakupovic has been slapped with a life ban after being found guilty of breaking rules on match-fixing.

According to Sport24, the Tennis Integrity Unit said that the 34-year-old tennis player was found guilty of five corruption charges under the sport’s anti- corruption programme.

Jakupovic had played two ATP challenger tournaments this season and had reached a career-high ranking of 267 in 2008. (ANI)
