According to K T Rama Rao, the minister for Industries, IT, Municipal Administration and urban development, under the programme, a third of the area in the industrial areas will be earmarked for planting trees and they will be uploaded online.

The system will enable all the industrial units to upload the number of trees planted in their premises through geo mapping. The trees planted in these industrial clusters will be supervised through geo fencing system. The details of all the trees planted would be uploaded online. All the industrial areas would be surveyed through photogramatic method which would help the government to have the complete details of all the trees planted. Survey would be taken up during all the seasons, the minister said. The government plans to increase the green cover to 1/3 rd of the area over the next three years. The Minister asked the industries, which have earlier not bothered to raise green cover to take up plantations of trees as part of the Haritha Haram programme.

He appreciated that most of the industries are taking active part in the Haritha Haram programme. The industries department has decided to plant 42 lakh saplings throughout the state. Of these 32 lakh saplings will be planted by the Commissioner of Industries while 10.74 lakh saplings will be planted in the 176 industrial parks across the state.
