Green days ahead for farmers: KCR

Hyderabad: On successful Mumbai mission, an exhilarated Chief Minister K Chandraekhar Rao who descended at Begumpet Airport in Hyderabad today exhorted the farmers not to end their lives as good days ahead for them with Telangana and Maharashtra governments signing joint deal to construct pending irrigation projects. The parched lands of North Telangana and other districts will get abundant waters to irrigate and the farmers should not lost confidence and instead believe in the government he said. No need of panic now as the nine districts will turn into green with abundant waters he asserted.
When KCR stepped out of Begumpet Airport this evening, Deputy Chief Minister Mahamood Ali, Ministers T Srinivas Yadav, Dr Lakshma Reddy, Tummala Nageshwar Rao and a large number of leaders gave him a rousing reception at the airport as a symbol of victory for the historic event of signing the deal which will go into the annals of two states. Speaking on the occasion getting nostalgic KCR said that he was very happy when statehood was achieved on June 2, 2014 and now the joint deal only increased it. The farming community now can go in for two crops a year as the projects will be completed in two and half years. Our aim is to irrigate one crore acres in nine districts in next few years KCR declared amid applause and gusto. On completion of the projects we will irrigate lands in Karimanagar and Warangal in first phase, Nalgonda, Nizamabad and Medak districts in second phase he added. (NSS)
