According to sources, the 29-year-old actress was thought to fit the bill and also the makers wanted a fresh pairing of sort, reports the Express Tribune.
However, when Pakistani actress Mahira Khan came on-board, she totally “nailed it” with her mannerism and lingo, which was apt for the character.
‘Raees’ revolves around one man who gains power in a Muslim ghetto of Gujarat; hence the character opposite Shah Rukh Khan also plays a pivotal role in the movie.
