Gurudwara Guru Singh Sabha Afzalgunj takes out holy procession

Hyderabad: A colourful Nagar Keertan (holy procession) was taken out from Gurudwara Guru Singh Sabha, Ashok Bazaar, Afzalgunj with breathtaking gatka skills on Monday as part of the birth anniversary celebrations Sikh religion founder Guru Nanak Devji falls on November 25.

On the occasion, thousands of Sikhs offered prayers to Guru Granth Sahebji (holy book of Sikhism). The day marked with exhilarating display of Gatka skills, a Sikh martial art form, rendering of Shabad keertans, carrying of Guru Granth Sahibji on a vehicle and Nishan Sahebans and so on. The holy procession passed through Siddiambar Bazaar, Jambagh, Putlibowli, central Gurudwara Saheb Gowliguda.

The Prabhandak Committee Gurudwara Sahib Secunderabad  president S. Baldev Singh Bagga and Gurudwara Sahib Guru Singh Sabha president S Balbir Singh Bagga and others organised the holy procession in a disciplined manner. Local Sikh youths joined Shabad keertans and Keerthani Jathas.

The Sikh leaders said Vishaal Deewan” (mass congregation) will be held at Nizam College Grounds from 11 am to 4 pm on November 25. The event will be marked by the recitations of Gurbani Keertans (Holy Hymns) by religious preachers coming from various parts of the country. After culmination of the congregation, Guru-Ka-Langar (free community kitchen) will be served to the devotees. Two night Keertan Darbars will be organised on November 24 at Gurudwara Saheb Secunderabad  from 7.30 pm to 11 pm. Another Night Keertan Darbar will be held at Gurudwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha, Afzalgunj on November 25 from 9 pm to 2.30 am where Ragi Jathas will recite Gurubani keertans. (NSS)
