Governor ESL Narasimhan today called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi in national capital and reportedly sought his intervention to sort out amicable the issue of high court bifurcation and other related issues. His Delhi visit assumes significance as the Prime Minister is scheduled to make a visit to the Telangana state to attend some developmental works in Aug first week and also alleged terror links traced from Hyderabad.
Besides apprising him of the prevailing situations in the two Telugu states, the Governor has spoken on the key issue of high court bifurcation, allocation of river waters to both the states and warring like situation among the chief ministers over irrigation projects and division of institutions under 9th and 10th schedules and other related issues cropped up during their event it is learnt. Later he told media persons that it was a courtesy call as he is in the national capital. Law and order situation in the two states is under control he said. When asked about the impending situation of two states at loggerheads over distribution of Krishna waters, the Governor hastened to add that the Centre will take care of it.
During his itinerary the Governor is to call on Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Law Minister Shiv Shankar Prasad and talk on the related issues. It is most likely that the Governor of two states will take up prominently the HC split issue with Ravi Shankar Prasad. (NSS)
