Haj Applications for Haj 2016 would be issued and received from 14th January to 8th February 2016, said Telangana State Haj Committee Special Officer Prof. S. A. Shukoor here on Saturday.
Prof. Shukoor said that the Haj Committee of India has finalized Action Plan for Haj 2016, according to which Qurrah (Draw of lots) for selection of Haj pilgrims would be held any time between 15th and 23rd March. He said that this year Haj Quota would be allotted to the states on the basis of 2011 census. He said that the Telangana State Haj committee would make arrangements for the pilgrims of Andhra Pradesh Haj Pilgrims. He said ‘This year the Haj is fixed on 10th September, for which Haj Chartered Flights will take off from 4th August to 5th September.
He said that on his representation the Haj Committee of India has dropped the idea of providing suit cases to the Haj pilgrims. He appealed the individuals, who intend to submit Haj Applications, to get their passports ready, as they would have to submit the copies of the passports along with applications. He further said that the International Passports should be digital printed i.e. Machine Readable. Haj Applications could also be submitted on line, he added. (INN)
