The Hajj Application Forms would be issued and accepted from January 2016. Chief Executive Officer Central Hajj Committee Ataur Rahman spoke to Special Officer Telangana Hajj Committee in connection with preparation and arrangements of Hajj 2016. Online submission facility will be available. According to Central Hajj Committee a joint meeting of foreign ministry and Central Hajj Committee officials will soon be held in New Delhi in which Hajj arrangements for 2016 will be finalised.
Current year the Hajj quota for Telangana was allotted as per 2001 census hence less quota was allotted to Telangana compared to Andhra Pradesh.
Recently Prof. S A Shukoor had proposed to enhanced quota proportionate to the ratio of Muslim population in those states as per census 2011 and Central Government agreed to this.
