HYDERABAD: A mother of a two-month-old child committed suicide at her house in Hyderabad allegedly due to harassment by her husband for more dowry.
According to a report in Telangana Today, the deceased woman identified as 19-year-old Shireen Fatima, was found hanging at her residence near Rama Theatre in Kamatipura. The report states that she committed suicide by hanging herself from a dupatta.
Shireen was married to Jahangir; a worker at a slaughter house. Her parents complained that they had given dowry at the time of their marriage but Jahangir was allegedly harassing her for additional dowry.
She took the extreme step due to dowry harassment.
The police have registered a case of dowry harassment and is being investigated.
