Harish Rao announces ex-gratia for electrocution victims

Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao on Monday announced payment of Rs. 6 lakh each as ex-gratia to the kin of seven people who were killed due to electrocution in Duggalwadi Tanda of Medak district.

Seven members of a marriage party were electrocuted to death when a hi-tension wire fell on a lorry in which they were travelling near Duggalwadi on Sunday night. A total of 15 persons were also injured in the incident. They were admitted to different hospitals in Hyderabad. One of the injured person succumbed while undergoing treatment.

Harish Rao has also ordered an enquiry and assured of stern action if any official was responsible for the incident. He also met the injured persons by visiting the hospitals and promised that the State Government would provide them better treatment. (INN)
