Harish seeks Komatireddy’s help in land acquisition

Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao has requested Congress senior MLA Komatireddy Venkat Reddy to extend help in land acquisition for the speedy completion of irrigation project works in Nalgonda district.

Reacting on doubts raised by Komatireddy under short notice discussion on the progress of Irrigation projects in Nalgonda district in Telangana Legislative Assembly on Sunday, Harish Rao said inspection of canals, CM &CD works, distributory network and embankment work was under progress. Earth works like excavation of Approach Channel, Excavation of Main Tunnel, COT filling, laying of Horizontal sand filters, bund, excavation of surge pool and excavation of pump house of AMR Brahmana Vellamula Lift Irrigation Project are completed. The Minister made it clear that the project will be completed by 2017.

When Venkat Reddy asked about the Srisailam Left Bank Tunnel works, the Minister said the works will be completed by 2019. The Minister said the previous governments had not evinced interest in completing the Tunnel Works and made the project works more complicated. The TRS government cleared all complications recently and the works will be taken up again. He also invited Venkat Reddy to join him in his visit of Tunnel works. He said the State government was very keen on supplying drinking water to the Fluoride-affected Nalgonda district. The Chief Minister knew very well about the Fluoride-affected Nalgonda district woes, he added. (NSS)
