Haryana CM gives nod to hike in scholarship for students

Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has approved a proposal to increase amount of scholarship for students belonging to general category and Backward Classes.

The scholarship amount would be increased from Rs 45 to Rs 200 per month, said an official spokesman in a release issued here said.

He said the beneficiaries included those getting training at Government Industrial Training Institutes, Government Industrial Training Institutes for Women and Government School of Arts, Rohtak.

He said the students belonging to below poverty line families would be covered under this scheme to enable more such students to get the benefit of scholarship.

The Chief Minister has approved a budget of Rs 1.83 crore for this purpose, he added.
