Haryana govt suspends two DSPs, initiates action against IGP

Chandigarh: The Haryana Government on Thursday suspended two Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP)s and initiated disciplinary action against one Inspector General of Police (IGP) over Jat quota agitation, which left 19 people dead, hundreds injured and crores worth of property damaged.

The state government suspended Amit Bhatia and Amit Dahiya (both Rohtak DSPs), and initiated action against then IGP Rohtak Shrikant Jadhav, who was transferred to Madhuban on Monday as IG (State crime records bureau).

Sanjay Kumar has been appointed as new IGP of Rohtak.

Rohtak was one of the worst hit by violence due to Jat agitation.

Meanwhile, life is returning to normal after agitators called off their protests demanding reservation under OBC category.

All road and rail routes have been cleared and traffic has been restored. Earlier this week, curfew was lifted from most of the places and traders opened their shops.
