Hassle-free property dealings on the cards

Now buying properties in Telangana need not require you to run from pillar to post, as the State government is planning to launch ‘e-stamps’ challan system from April 11 across the State. This means that filling of registration form, filing challans will be just a mouse click away. This was revealed by, Deputy Inspector General, Stamps and Registration, G Madhusudhan Reddy. In the new system, people can pay their stamp duty, registration fee and transfer duty in both online and offline modes. He further informed that, an integrated online payment system connecting almost all the 145 registration offices had been created with the active participation of National Informatics Centre (NIC).

The e-challan system aims at reducing the time taken for generating challans and preventing misuse of challans by the staff in the offices. Currently, the process takes a long time due to shortage of staff in the banks as well as in government offices while several cases of such misuse have been reported in the districts in recent times.
