Heavy rain paralyses life in twin cities

_DSC6262

The rain god’s effect was continuing in the State capital. On Wednesday, heavy rain lashed several parts bringing normal life to a grinding halt for a few hours. Malakpet, Goshamahal, Chadarghat, Koti, Abids, Chikkadpally, RTC crossroads, Indira Park, Musheerabad, Domalguda, Amberpet, Nampally, Jeedimetla, Balanagar, Chintal, Panjagutta and Jubilee Hills received very good rainfall today.

At Malakpet, the rain showed its impact. The roads turned into lakes due to half-an-hour heavy rain. The drainages overflowed and the water halted on roads due to scrap in manholes. Due to rain water on the roads, the traffic halted hugely for several kilometers on routes — Musarambagh-Amberpet, Malakpet-Koti, Chadarghat-Dilsukhnagar, Sankeswar Bazar-Gaddi Annaram Market roads.  The traffic police were trying hard to clear the traffic in rain.
