Hijab wearing Muslim girl became the face of the beauty industry

United States: Nura Afia, a Muslim beauty blogger proved that the face of the beauty industry is changing by becoming CoverGirl’s newest ambassador. She will be one of the faces of its So Lashy! mascara campaign.

It is to be mentioned that Afia’s popular makeup channel, Babylailalov has over 2,00,000 subscribers, where she shares her beauty hacks, makeup tutorials and various creative ways to wear a hijab.

“I grew up being insecure about wearing the Hijab and I never thought I would see Muslim women represented on such a large scale”, Afia told Refinery29 of her new ambassadorship.

She further said, “I hope this campaign will show Muslim women that brands care about us as consumers and we’re important, especially hijabis. We can be featured on TV, we can be featured on billboards in Times Square. We can be represented.”
