Hindu girl stopped by her father who is retired Indian Army Lieutenant Colonel from joining IS

New Delhi: A girl who did graduation from a reputed Delhi University College and did her further studies from Australia showed her interest in the activities of Islamic State.

Sources claimed that she wanted to join the terror organization. The girl, born to Hindu parents developed interest in IS when she was in Australia.

However, Officials claimed that she did not contacted anyone and was only checking IS motivational materials online. Official also said that it was the first case when a Hindu girl showed interest in IS.

Girl’s father who is a retired Indian Army Lieutenant Colonel alerted the agencies about two-and-a-half months ago. Father alerted NIA and sought their help in counseling her when he saw IS material on his daughter’s computer.

Although, NIA and IB counseled the girl and let her go after preliminary investigation, agencies suspected that she was in touch with IS operatives online and also during her three-year stay in Australia.
