Hindu who wishes to deliver sermon at Makkah Masjid to approach court if denied permission

Hyderabad: Hindu doctor, who is also a TRS member, said if he is not given permission to speak at Makkah Masjid, he would be left with no other choice but to approach the court.

The Times of India has quoted A S Rao as saying “If need be, I will also quit the TRS. All I want to do is to express myself.” A S Rao, runs a nursing home, he did his medicine from Osmania Medical College.

On April 27 Rao had made a representation seeking permission to speak on the third Friday of the month of Ramadan and had promised that he would not speak anything that would “damage the sanctity of Makkah Masjid”. Rao is furious that minorities welfare secretary Omer Jaleel has not responded to his request.

He is keen to speak at Makkah masjid because the MIM was being allowed to speak after the Namaz. He also gave the reason that besides Makkah Masjid, in no other masjid in the country, political speeches are allowed. He said he will not speak about politics but about the lack of development in Old City.

47-year-old Rao intends to contest from the Hyderabad Lok Sabha seat in the next elections in 2019.

He claimed that MWD has no valid reason to deny him permission. “In such circumstances, I may have to approach the court.” he said.

It must be noted that Omer Jaleel is in no mood to allow Rao to speak as it would be a `sensitive issue’.
