The Role
Our client, a leading international insurance company, is currently seeking a General Manager to be based in one of their branches.

Job Purpose:
To promote and develop the company in the Asia Pacific region with a strong focus on bottom line profit. To underwrite Treaty and Facultative business (Property and Engineering classes from ASEAN and North Asia region with other classes of business. To maintain existing profitable business and business sources and further secure/develop business from emerging countries in the region whilst limiting overall natural catastrophe exposure.

Requirements
Qualification, Experience & Skills Required:
• Technical Experience Required: 15+ years in Asia region and 10 years senior managerial Re-Insurance Treaty and Facultative experience at the VP/Senior Underwriter level. Mixed portfolio responsibility, with managerial experience in at least 3 or the following 4 business sectors: Engineering, Energy, Property, Oil and Gas.
• Strong ability and desire to lead and grow a regional business from a base. Ability to manage and develop a team’s competencies whilst assimilating and applying regional knowledge and experience to others.
• BSc Degree – preferable in Engineering
• MBA and/or relative Chartered Professional Institute Membership or Association desirable.
