The Role
This opportunity is with a government entity in Dubai.
As a Senior IT Engineer, you are responsible for managing the Database Infrastructure and the respective tools, troubleshoot and resolve the day to day operational issues, monitor the performance, utilization and capacity on regular basis, coordinate with vendor to provide accurate countermeasure for mitigation.
You will be installing and upgrading the database server and application tools, allocating system storage and planning future storage requirements for the database system. Respond proactively to all Database requirement to support the national security demands and assist planning team on capacity planning. Communicate effectively within the team and understand the requirements well and deliver the desired output on time. Provides inputs regarding improvements in optimizing the Database solution. Proactive thinking on how to handle unwanted surprises. Manage and highlight risk on a systematic manner.
Requirements
To be successful you would ideally possess 8 Years’ of experience in IT infrastructure role, with at least 4 years of experience in handling Database infrastructure and respective tools and have a knowledge of structured query language (SQL), UNIX and database management systems (DBMS).
Minimum bachelor’s degree in information security, CISSP and/or relevant product based qualification preferred.
