Telangana Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy said that no action could be taken against police officials who clicked pictures with slained gangster Nayeemuddin.
Speaking to media persons here on Friday, the Home Minister said pictures does not prove the nexus between police officials and the gangster and therefore, no action could be taken against such cops. He refused to comment on the pictures published in some daily newspapers showing top police officials in conversation with gangster Nayeem who was killed in an encounter with police last year.
The Home Minister claimed that the Special Investigation Team (SIT) was investigating into the Nayeem’s case and anyone found guilty of having criminal nexus with the gangster would be punished. He also clarified that there was no political pressure on SIT.
Nayani was in Visakhapatnam to participate in a Sri Sarada Peetham programme. (INN)
