HMR project works picked up: NVS Reddy

Chief Secretary K Pradeep Chandra today held the Special Task Force meeting on the progress of the Hyderabad Metro Rail (HMR) project. He said Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was keen that HMRL project is completed expeditiously and that all government departments shall give full support for execution of this prestigious project on fast track mode.

Making a detailed presentation on the progress of the works, HMRL Managing Director NVS Reddy informed the CS that 61 km of foundations, 58 km of pillars and 49 km of viaduct have been completed and that the project execution has again picked up speed since it was reviewed by the Chief Minister recently.

The Chief Secretary directed Hyderabad Collector to expedite acquisition of the affected properties in Sultan Bazaar, Badichwdi and Putlibowli areas for which consents have been received from the property owners. He also asked he GHMC Commissioner and land acquisition officer to expedite acquisition of the remaining few affected properties in Yusufguda and Jubilee hills. The CS also advised Minorities Welfare Secretary to immediately hand over the affected properties at Musheerabad Junction and RTC crossroads for which payments have already been made by HMRL.

            GHMC Commissioner Dr B Janardhan Reddy, Minorities Welfare Secretary Omer Jaleel, IG Stamps & Registration Ahmed Nadeem, Hyderabad district Joint Collector M Prashanti, HMRL chief engineer Md Ziaudiddin and other senior officers of HMRL, GHMC and other government departments were present in the meeting.
