Holi Day: Police Commissioner prohibits throwing of colours in public

Hyderabad: In view of the Hindu festival Holi, police commissioner Mahender Reddy issued orders on Saturday prohibiting throwing colour or coloured water on persons, places and vehicles. The order also stated that smearing people with colour, on public roads and public places in Hyderabad City, causing annoyance are also prohibited.

Holi, the festival of colours, falls on Sunday and Monday this year.

The police commissioner also warned that action might be taken against those who drive two or four-wheelers rashly. He also warned against moving of two-wheelers and other vehicles in groups on streets and public places disturbing peace and order and or causing inconveniences, annoyance or danger to public.
