Los Angeles: Hollywood actor/singer Lindsay Lohan sparks speculation when she was pictured carrying a copy of the Holy Quran on the first day of community service in New York last summer. But now Catholic-born redhead revealed that she is “open to learning” about the Muslim faith.
Lindsay confirms she is studying the religion and has yet to finish reading the lengthy holy text.
Speaking to The Sun newspaper, the 29-year-old actress said: “I’m not done reading it. Do you know how long that would take? It takes so long. I’m a very spiritual person and I’m really open to learning.
“America has portrayed holding a Koran in such a different way to what it actually is. We all believe in something and at the end of the day it all ties to a god or a spiritual adviser. We all have a similar belief in whatever it may be personally.”
Lindsay’s younger sister Ali Lohan, 22, is a practising Buddhist. “My sister is Buddhist but she is still interested in learning other things from me. It’s good to be open-minded,” added the ‘Mean Girls’ star.
If Lindsay is considering switching faith, she would join a host of famous faces including Muhammad Ali, Janet Jackson and Mike Tyson who have followed the same path and became Muslims.
