Home Guards protest at TS Secretariat Gate

About 1500 home guards today stormed Telangana Secretariat and staged a sit in at the  main entrance gate demanding the government to resolve their issues. The home guards made it clear to the media persons that they will continue the stir until Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao gives an assurance on their just demands. If not KCR, at least any of the ministers like KT Rama Rao and T Harish Rao or MP Kavitha should come and give an assurance and clarity on their woes, the home guards said.

Though a team of home guards earlier discussed with Chief Secretary  Rajiv Sharma and the latter  assured them  to resolve their problems,  the Home Guards did not relent. They came in hundreds and were prevented from entering into the Secretariat by police at the gate. They shouted slogans for immediate solution to their just demands. The demands include job security, salary hike, bus pass, insurance and other benefits on par with police personnel. The CS during the meeting said that he will take up the issue with the chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to resolve the same. However the unconvinced home guards are on war path and staged a protest at the TS gate from 4 pm till late evening. (NSS)
