Hospitals will face music for needless surgeries: Harish

As part of the Statewide launching of the much-awaited “KCR Kits” to promote institutional deliveries in the government hospitals, Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao today warned that stringent action will be taken against those hospitals indulging in needless caesarian operations.

Participating in a program at Siddipet at Mother & Child Care Hospital here on Saturday, Harish Rao said Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has launched the KCR Kits program, which is first of its kind in the country. These kits, he said, will prove handy for both mother and child on delivery for three months. The private hospitals should shun needless caesarian operations as they are causing loss to the patients and agony. He also expressed concern that some private and corporate hospitals are indulging in unnecessary caesarian operations for the sake of money. This is not right and inhuman he said adding that the government is focusing on such malpractices in the private hospitals. The doctors and staff should have a motto to serve the people and not to suck their blood for money he opined. Harish also announced to start a Dialysis Center at Sidhipet Government Hospital soon.

The minister accused the previous congress government of throwing the hospitals into dilapidated conditions due to negligence. However, on coming to power the TRS government is developing all the government hospitals to offer the best health services to the common man. Now that the people of middle class and upper class are looking at the government hospitals for providing improved health services with adequate facilities and infrastructure Harish said. Stating that more facilities are being provided to the government hospitals he said that Sidhipet will get 300 bed hospital as its construction will complete in three months. The Chief Minister has announced to launch a medical college for Sidhipet he said. Bhojanamrutham program is getting accolades by providing food to the relatives of the patients coming to Siddipet MCH hospital. (NSS)
