Husband slit woman’s throat in auto rickshaw

Mumbai: Geeta Dubey, 28-year-old mother, was killed by her husband in an auto rickshaw at Goregaon on Monday night.

The culprit Prasad Rawat, Geeta Dubey’s husband, was arrested on Tuesday by Goregaon police. “The motive behind killing his wife was some marital dispute”, says DCP Vikram Deshmane.

The incident took place at 9:15 pm at Tomato Lane near Goregoan station when Geeta Dubey was on her way to Malad West. The police has analyse some CCTV footage and got to know how brutally Rawat murdered his wife. The offender forcefully entered in rickshaw, gashed her throat and then stabbed her in the chest and escaped.

The rickshaw driver rushed her to nearby hospital where doctor declared her dead caused by heavy blood loss.

She had two daughters of age one and three. Geeta’s brother-in-law informed police, “Both of them were not living together. Geeta was staying with her mother at Malad west. But Rawat used to visit her often to meet his children”.
