Hyderabad: A teenager from Meerpet committed suicide on Friday night after she came to know that her boyfriend uploaded her photos on the social media.
S Mamatha 18-year-old daughter of a grocery store owner in Om Sai Nagar was in a relationship with Nagaraju who works at a jewellery shop located close to their shop. They took a few pictures when they were together.
When Mamata rejected Nagaraju’s marriage proposal. He was mentally harassing her and had threatened her that he will upload their photographs on social media and he posted their pictures on Facebook.
After knowing this the girl on Friday doused herself with kerosene and set herself ablaze and finally, she yielded to death.
A case has been filed under section 354 D (Any man who follows a woman and contacts or attempts to contact such woman to foster personal interaction repeatedly) and 306 (abetment to suicide) of the Indian Penal Code.
