Hyderabad: A 55-year old man, R/O Achi Reddy Nagar in Falaknuma, who had raped and impregnated his teenage daughter was convicted and sentenced to seven years of rigorous imprisonment by a criminal court here on Friday.
According to sources Omar Khan had raped his 15-year-old daughter for several months in 2005. According to ACP Falaknuma Md. Tajuddin Ahmed, the offence was also proved with the help of a DNA test and report.
Judge B. Sai Kalyan Chakravarthi of AMSJ of Nampally court pronounced the sentence for the convict who had been charged with rape (IPC 376) and criminal intimidation (506).
The ACP informed that the rape occurred when the two were living in the same house. It went on for months and the girl got pregnant. Following a complaint from her mother, a case was registered.
The unscrupulous father had threatened the daughter to kill her if she ever told anyone about this.
Omar Khan was doing petty jobs in the area. He was arrested after the case was registered. After the girl and her mother’s approval doctors had aborted the pregnancy. The victim now lives with her mother in the city.
